This is a song about a person who witnessed their father get taken up by a tornado, and now as an adult another tornado is on the way.

The devil wind is blowing from the north & from the west
The way that I remember on that day

2) In 1987, Oklahoma in the spring
A sunny afternoon turned into night
The roar was like a freight train bearing down upon the tracks
My Daddy said to run with all my might

There’s a Tornado on the way

I shiver when I hear the sirens in the night
I always heed the warning that it brings
But I can’t erase the vision of that terrifying sight

He’d said “Go find yourself someplace to hide”
And when I turned to look, I saw the devil’s hand come down
And I didn’t get a chance to say Goodbye
